SkiinG & SNOWBOARDING
Everett, launch pad to PNW adventureland, is a perfect jumping off point for snow sports enthusiasts. Four ski areas are within two-and-a-half-hour drive radius: Snoqualmie, Baker, Stevens Pass and Crystal Mountain. Lodging is affordable in Everett, so you can start and end your day here with plenty of outdoor fun sandwiched between.
The Summit at SnoqualmieWebsite
The Summit at Snoqualmie is easily accessible right off of I-90. You can drive there in about an hour and a half from Everett. The Summit at Snoqualmie is a massive ski area with almost 2,000 acres over 3 base areas.
It checks the boxes for any style of riding, too. Love backcountry powder days? Check! Love going fast on the groomers? Check! Love to catch some air? Check, they have two terrain parks. Into cross country? Check! Like taking it easy because it hurts more to fall now that you’re older? Check!
Mt. Baker Ski Area
Two hours northeast of Everett is the ever-snowy behemoth, Mount Baker, that receives the most snowfall of any resort in North America. Baker gets over 600 inches of snow every year – so if you’re a powder lover, this is your spot. There are two base areas and a little over 1,000 acres to explore.
There’s no night riding, but adult day passes are reasonably priced so you can spend a day hitting the slopes and still make it back to Everett for a cold pint and some fish and chips.
Stevens Pass Mountain Resort
Stevens is the closest skiing area to Everett, just a quick jaunt down scenic State Route 2. You can get there in about an hour and twenty minutes, and boy is the drive scenic! Over 460 (on average) inches of snow with 1,100 acres of rideable terrain, 52 runs, a super run terrain park and great bars and restaurants. It’s the local spot. While there’s endless fun for intermediate and advanced riders, Steven’s also offers classes and bunny hills for beginners.
Local tip: if you ride during the day, head to the ‘backside’ for long runs and short lines.
Crystal Mountain Resort
Two and a half hours south of Everett is the beloved Crystal Mountain. Home of Washington’s only gondola and one of the most modern lift operations in the PNW, Crystal sits at a hefty 7000ft and offers all sorts of ways for beginners and pros to shred the gnar.
